Monday, January 27 is a Professional Learning Day for staff. There will be no school for students.
Monroe County Schools will have a NTID day for Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Students will complete snow packet #5 and employees only report on a 2-hour delay. Any student who needs assistance with their assignments may contact their teacher at school after 10:30 am.

James Monroe High School nursing, business, and law/public safety classes visited The Greenbrier. They received a phenomenal history tour by renowned historian Dr Bob Conte. After learning some of the history of The Greenbrier, each class was able to tour the facility with respect to their program. nursing visited the Clinic and met with the doctors and nurses. They also were able to see first hand a diagnostic clinic. Law/public safety received a behind the scenes tour of the security programs of the Resort, including fire rescue, casino operations, and general guest safety. The business program visited with the sales team, saw meeting space, and learned tips on customer service.

Tara Etter from First Community Bank stopped by to discuss credit and budgeting to Mr Gardinier’s Personal Finance class. The students were able to hear from a leader in our community about the importance of credit, maintaining good credit, how to get credit; as well as begging r budgeting topics, income, expenses. Introduction to Agriculture students from Monroe County Technical Center, Greenbrier East High School, and Greenbrier West High School met at the Willowbend Agriculture Innovation Center on Wednesday, October 30 for the first annual Agriculture Safety Day. Part 2
Introduction to Agriculture students from Monroe County Technical Center, Greenbrier East High School, and Greenbrier West High School met at the Willowbend Agriculture Innovation Center on Wednesday, October 30 for the first annual Agriculture Safety Day. Sponsored by the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day program, a nationwide program, students rotated through 6 different stations to learn about 8 different safety topics offered by our team of volunteers. Topics covered included ATV safety, hearing and sun safety, tractor and PTO safety, lawn mower safety, and animal handling. Trained volunteers used a curriculum designed to help students understand how safety is vitally important on the farm. They were provided a pre-packed lunch by a donation from Collins Aerospace and each student received a Progressive Ag Safety Day T-Shirt. Thank you to everyone involved from instructor volunteers, to student volunteers, and students for a successful day and we are excited to host future safety days at the farm!
